Volume One spotlights the preBeatles skiffle and folk era and ties this in to the Blues Boom group material of the late 1960s. Three further volumes concentrate on Merseybeat the London scene and the jazz and soul sounds that influenced the mod movement. In the late 1960s when US college youth were likely to buy anything British labelled heavy progressive or blues the brandleaders of the British Invasion The Rolling Stones Fleetwood Mac Cream Ten Years After The Jeff Beck Group and Led Zeppelin were without exception born out ofthe American music included in this fascinating collection.Teenagers in postwar America werent particularly fond of folk blues or country and western that was the stuff that their parents liked. Yet to some of their counterparts in rationbook Britain this music seemed to offer messages from an intriguing culture half a

Chat with chicks no registration 27.Please Please Please James BrownWell what a set this one is it is not JUST the music that makes it so valuable I nearly wrote importantThe 68 page booklet fully illustrated with labels photos and billboards is an exemplar of how these things should be done. Each individual track comes with a textual analysis and full recording detailsThe wealth of information presented is both impressive and delightful. Impressive because of the volume of research that must have been undertaken to produce the text and delightful because of the fascinating information delivered to the reader particularly in the context of the sequencing of the tracksthere is more information here than will often be found in some books purporting to discuss the genre. Ian McKenzie Blues RhythmBreathtaking collection of vintage greats...brilliantly packaged with a detailed 68page booklet its hard to think of a music fan who wouldnt want this in their collection. Bumble bee scout show TimeLife Album Discography Part 17Rock N Roll Era Series By Mike Callahan David Edwards and Patrice Eyries Last update March 4 2008 The Rock n RollEra was the earliest big pop music subscription success for TimeLife. It started as a series of 2LPbox sets which were also issued on cassette and a year later on CD. The LP sets were discontinuedabout the end of 1990 in favor of CDs. We have seen LP sets as high as volume 40 and expect the LPvolumes might exist as high as volume 42. As far as we have seen almost all the cover art for the LPand CD series are identical. The vinyl box sets came with a 6X9 34inch insert that folded out into a12X18inch sheet with liner notes and pictures. Essentially the same information was contained in theCD booklets which also folded out into a notaslarge sheet. The LP labels were blue with a specialThe Rock N Roll Era logo at the top. The two vinyl discs were housed in TimeLife antistatic polylined inner sleeves.Early issues in the series had many flaws like wrong versions mono instead of stereo and many disctransfers. To their credit TimeLife aggressively upgraded the sound when they found better sourcesand eventually corrected many of the wrong versions especially on CD. This resulted in remastered CDversions of the same volumes usually indistinguishable from the earlier CD pressings unless onestudied the matrix numbers remasters were indicated by RE1 RE2 et
